![]() If it’s Red, it’s Bodine. If it’s green, it’s no problem. Bodine offers fluorescent emergency ballasts compatible with today’s low-mercury (green) lamp technology. Mercury is essential to the operation of a fluorescent lamp. However, mercury can be a danger to the environment. The Environmental Protection Agency’s Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) is used to measure mercury levels and determine whether a spent fluorescent lamp is considered hazardous waste material. Low-mercury lamps are designed to pass the TCLP test, meaning that these lamps, when spent, will not be considered hazardous waste. Many lamp manufacturers are going green. Bodine emergency lighting products allow end-users to go green, too, without compromising their emergency lighting.
