CheckMate™ Awarded Plant Engineering 2006 Product of the Year Honor

Bodine’s CheckMate™ ET1 earned bronze in Plant Engineering magazine's 2006 Product of the Year competition. Fifty-two products in 17 categories were honored at PE's Manufacturing Summit April 2 in Chicago. CheckMate placed third (bronze) in the lighting category.

The trip to the Manufacturing Summit awards presentation was a two-phase process. First, a panel of plant management experts selected by PE narrowed the field of POY entries to 125 finalists. PE's qualified subscribers – subscribers who reported that they have buying/specifying responsibilities at their plant – then selected first-, second- and third-place (gold, silver and bronze) winners for each category.

Alex Ertz, Bodine’s director of operations and engineering, and David Crenshaw, manager of research and development, attended the event and accepted the award on behalf of Bodine. David was the lead design engineer for CheckMate, and CheckMate utilizes patented technology (6,710,546) developed by David.

In addition to the PE award, CheckMate won EC&M magazine's 2006 POY competition in the Lighting Components and Systems category.
