ARC Keeper® HID Backup Ballast

The ARC Keeper® HID Backup Ballast helps eliminate the downtime common to HID lighting systems. HID systems are very sensitive to even minor power disturbances. Bodine's ARC Keeper senses these disturbances and "catches" the metal halide lamp arc before the disturbance can threaten the lamp. The ARC Keeper then supports the arc for up to two minutes. Two minutes is generally enough time for a disturbance to pass or for a generator to respond. No arc loss means no need for lengthy restrike periods. Bodine offers models for both pulse-start and probe-start lamps. ARC Keeper models are CSA Certified. They are suitable for 120/277 VAC applications and are not available for 120/347 VAC.
